FHLSim v1.3 Update Release Notes

FHLSim.com has released v1.3 patch for FHL!

What's New and Fixed

Fixed bug where the first round of the draft wasn't outputted if a draft hadn't been completed with the Output Draft Order button.
Fixed a bug which created runtime errors when using the draft lottery option.
Fixed a bug where the lottery results weren't reflected in the draft output.
Fixed bug in Add Player function where if the database was too large, a run-time error Subscript Out Of Range occurred.
Fixed a bug where players with no last names (i.e. one-name players) caused a run time error when simming games.
Fixed a bug where the cumulative stats caused runtime errors in the TeamScoring report sometimes.
Added a new column to the box-score. Hits are now tracked in the sim and in the boxscores. Names in the boxscore are now FULL names, not first letter then last name. This eliminates issues like Victor/Viacheslav Kozlov confusion.
Enhanced the registration verification dialog to be more forgiving to extraneous input than previous versions.

We felt this update was needed to enhance the stability of the 1.x software regardless of the development of the next version of FHL. We hope it reinforces our commitment to the ongoing support of FHL.

If you downloaded the patch before 19-July-2001, you must re-download the 1.3 patch due to a small bug in the TeamScoring report.
Reapply the patch as per normal (basically just unzip the fhl.exe program).

Installation Instructions

Upgrading from v1.2 to v1.3:

  1. Note the installation folder for FHL. For example, the default installation folder is C:\Program Files\Fantasy Hockey League\.
  2. Backup your league files.
    - If your league file is sensim.ros, then add sensim.* to a sensim.zip file or copy to new folder.
    - The update does not modify league files, but this is a precautionary measure advisable whenever making changes in your FHL folder.
  3. Close the FHL.exe application if it is running.
  4. Rename the existing C:\Program Files\Fantasy Hockey League\fhl.exe program to a C:\Program Files\Fantasy Hockey League\fhl-12.bak, using Windows Explorer.
  5. Decompress the v1.3 update file to your FHL folder, using Winzip (http://www.winzip.com) or other zip-compatible decompression utility.

Upgrading from versions v1.0x to v1.3:

  1. Download the file

  7. Decompress the contents of the 1.3 support files  to your c:\Windows\System folder using Winzip (http://www.winzip.com) or other zip-compatible decompression utility.
  8. If you have problems in Step 7, you may need to do this in DOS mode. See the section on this on the FAQ.
